BMW Other description

2014 Bmw R 1200 GS Adventure, Liquid cooled Adventure is on the way! Now accepting deposits. - You like extreme and long tours? On rough roads, over stony tracks out in the wild, too? Tarmac, offroad, stones and sand: These are the challenges the new BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is longing to master with its easy and agile handling. A machine for those who want to test their limits and go beyond them. Or to put it briefly: A motorcycle for riders who are seeking real adventure and don't want to miss out on a great deal of riding pleasure in the process. Conquer any type of terrain on an enduro which meets all your practical needs. Two standard-fitted ride modes – "Rain" and "Road" – are available at the press of a button and offer two completely different, finely tuned riding experiences. It's like having two motorcycles in one. Further riding modes are also available as an option. 7.9 gallons in the fuel tank combined with the engine's optimized fuel efficiency really make you "unstoppable" on and off the road making unwanted stops a thing of the past. In addition the standard level of equipment was improved, e.g. to include an on-board computer. This enables perfect navigation and provides the rider with useful data such as fuel level, average speed and fuel consumption. This travel enduro is rounded off by a newly integrated compartment above the tank which allows you to keep small items within reach at all times. The R 1200 GS Adventure responds dynamically in any situation thanks to the legendary 92 foot pounds of flat-twin torque and 125 bhp delivered by the new, air/liquid-cooled two-cylinder four-stroke engine. The R 1200 GS is also characterized by its unmistakable design, further improved seating comfort, wind and weather protection and by its muscular presence. It is available in three color versions: Olive Matte, Racing Blue Metallic Matte and Alpine White. The R 1200 GS Adventure. Make an impression. Everywhere.

2015 BMW S1000XR Spied – Inline-Four Multistrada Rival on the Way

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

Spy photographers have captured a new BMW adventure-tourer powered by the S1000RR’s Inline-Four engine. The new model, which we expect will be called the 2015 BMW S1000XR, will be more road-oriented than the company’s bread-and-butter GS line, offering a competitor to the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 or the recently reviewed Aprilia Caponord 1200. Other publications that have published the spy photos (Insella.it and MotorcyclistOnline for example) have put forward names such as S1000F or S1000 ADV for the new model, but a trademark application BMW filed with the USPTO suggests it may be introduced as the “S1000XR”.

The new search tool, available at http://www.safercar.gov/vinlookup, allows people to look for recall campaigns by entering Vehicle Identification Numbers.

2010 BMW S1000RR – First Ride

Fri, 20 Nov 2009

UPDATE:  Full Review now on Motorcycle.com (with video) We just spent the day ripping it up around the fabulous Portimao race circuit in Portugal on BMW’s new S1000RR supersport literbike, and it’s set to blow away perceptions of what a BMW motorcycle is. With 193 crankshaft horsepower and a claimed dry weight of 404 pounds, BMW says the S1000RR has the best power-to-weight ratio of any production bike. And, by the way the S1000 lofts its front wheel onto Portimao’s front straight at 150 mph, we’re becoming believers!
