BMW has expanded its maxi-scooter lineup with a new electric-powered model. Officially revealed after a year of testing at various events in Europe such as the 2012 London Olympics, the BMW C evolution is now ready for production, joining the gas-powered C650GT and C600 Sport. The C evolution is powered by a liquid-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor claiming an European Union-rated 15 hp, though if you really strain the motor peak output can reach 47 hp.

Howd you like to have the latest, most advanced motorcycle in BMWs current line-up for $1,000 or less? Now that I have your attention Ill clarify the above by saying that you can have, at some point, the new S1000RR literbike for a stated maximum of no more than $1,000 over the retail of what most of the Big Four will price their liter machines. This was undoubtedly the biggest news from BMW during the U.S.

Not sure what's going on with the sound in this vid, but it calms down after a minute - sorry! As my long term BMW S1000RR does most of its miles working hard on track days, I felt an early 6000 mile service might be a good idea. A quick phone call to my local dealer (the friendly and efficient Pidcocks) saw my bike in the workshop the following week and back in my hands by lunchtime.
