Aprilia Tuono APRC V4 R description

2014 Aprilia Tuono APRC V4 R

The Ferrari of Super Naked Motorcycles

2,300 miles (just broke in): Perfect condition and riding. Adult owned, never ridden on track or laid down.

The number one super naked bike in the world. The same frame and engine as the World Moto GP Winner, its sister bike the RSV4 but with higher handle bars and geared slightly different so that it is enjoyable on the street. It is also one fourth to one third less to insure. The price of insurance is the same as most cruisers.

Tuono translates to "thunder" in Italian.
999 cc
V4 engine (has unbelievable sound and power, Aprilia put a valve in the exhaust to pass db noise laws at a set rpm and then the valve opens up)
6 speed
170 hp
407 lbs (has more power to weight ratio than a Bugatti Super Car)
0 to 50 mph in 2.9 seconds (stock)
0 to 100 mph in 5.1 seconds (stock)

And Brembo Brakes to stop

It is equipped with gyroscopes and an accelerometer for the APRC system (Aprilia Performance Ride Control)
Three ride modes: Road, Sport, and Track (controls how much hp is released in different gears and rpm)

Eight traction control settings for each ride mode: this controls the rear wheel spin when cornering

Three wheelie control settings and off: this controls how much the front wheel will come off the ground, linit the bike to 25 degrees, and also set the front wheel down softly if you release the throttle

Three launch control settings: this is designed for the track (I have never used or been on a track) to make your starts perfect without controlling the clutch

Quick upshifting: turns off spark plugs for a millisecond and allows for upshifting without pulling in the clutch

Please take a look at the reviews for this bike, it is unbelievably good and I have never read one where it is not number one.

The bike is 100% stock except for the tidy tail (eliminates huge license plate holder) and gel driver's seat.

Just had the oil changed.

Includes both keys and manual.

I am relocating with my job and will not be taking the Aprilia with me.

Much better than Yamaha R1, Honda CBR, Kawasaki Ninja, Suzuki GSXR, BMW, KTM Super Duke, Triumph Triple R, and the Ducati Monster and Streetfighter, but I am biased.

WSBK: 2012 Phillip Island Results – Video

Mon, 27 Feb 2012

Max Biaggi won the opening race to the 2012 World Superbike Championship while defending champion Carlos Checa came back from a high-speed crash in the first race to win the second at Australia’s Phillip Island circuit. Reigning champion Checa of Althea Ducati had a stunning high-side crash while leading on the sixth lap of Race One. The WSBK paddock was already in shock with the death of 17-year-old Oscar McIntyre in the Superstock 600 race the day before but thankfully Checa was not seriously injured.

Our Magnificent seven

Wed, 16 Feb 2011

Remember to dust your Union Jacks down if you happen to be visiting any Grand Prix this year as we have no less than seven youngsters to cheer on in the junior Moto GP classes. I don’t think we’ve ever had this many ‘yoofs’ in the GP paddock so let’s hope they can do the business and bring an end to our long drought of Grand Prix titles. And that could be soon as Scott Redding is already a hot favourite for the 2011 Moto 2 championship on his Marc VDS Suter machine.

2010 Aprilia RSV4 Engine Recall

Tue, 02 Feb 2010

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration finally released information about the upcoming Aprilia RSV4 engine recall, and just as we suspected here at Motorcycle.com, the culprit was a faulty batch of connecting rods. Yes, the same conrods that curtailed the RSV4R’s European launch, attended by our correspondent Tor Sagen. That October media event at the world-class Mugello circuit was halted after five, count’em, FIVE engines blew.
