Aprilia TUONO description

I am proudly selling my 2006 Aprilia Tuono 1000R.  This bike was purchased new by me in late 2006.  I have only put 1734 miles on it since new.  This was a toy for me not transportation or a racer.  Just went out after work on occasion for a half hour blast from time to time.  It is in perfect condition.  Always covered in a climate controlled garage.  Never ridden in the rain or lent to anyone else to tryout.  I have all of the original paperwork and books that came with the purchase.  This bike has a set of modified factory exhaust that are mounted on the bike.  I disassembled them and changed the internals for improved flow and sound characteristics.  This was all completed with the use of a flow bench to optimize power across all rpm ranges.  It also comes with the original pipes that I took off after 200 miles.  The pictures speak for themselves, this bike is in as new condition and rides fantastic.  Adult owned and babied for its entire life.

Thank you for your time!

Aprilia Officially Entering MotoGP In 2015, One Year Ahead Of Schedule

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Aprilia has announced today that it will be re-entering the MotoGP World Championship starting in 2015, one year ahead of schedule. Aprilia has struck a four-year long partnership with Gresini Racing, which currently fields Alvaro Bautista and Scott Redding aboard Honda machinery. With rumors of Gresini’s Go&Fun sponsorship evaporating next year, the deal with Aprilia breathes new life into the team, which can now remain in MotoGP.  The press release is vague as to the machinery Aprilia will use next year, but it’s widely believed the 2015 bike will be a massaged version of the RSV4-based ART machine currently being campaigned by Danilo Petrucci.

Pikes Peak 87th Annual International Hill Climb [pics and video]

Fri, 15 May 2009

Named after a man by the name of Zebulon Pike, an explorer who led an expedition to the area in 1806, Pikes Peak is home to the second oldest motorsports race in America second only to the Indianapolis 500. First completed in 1916, this year marks the 87th running of the “Race to the Clouds.” If the math doesn’t add up, this is because there were several years that the event did not run over the course of its 93 year history. The 12.4 mile trek up the mountain consists of 156 treacherous turns to an elevation of 14,110 feet.

2014 Aprilia RSV4 WSBK Livery Revealed – The Silver Fireball

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

Aprilia waited until just a few days before the start of the 2014 World Superbike Championship to reveal the livery on its RSV4 Superbike. Most of the other factory teams revealed their liveries weeks ago, but now that we’ve seen the “silver fireball” look the RSV4, we can say the wait was worth it. The new silver look replaces the predominantly red and black look used the past few seasons.
