 Description:
In some ways, it has become a great challenge to find a bike that is beautiful to look at, powerful enough to be entertaining to ride, comfortable to commute on, and suspended in such a way as to deal with the riding surfaces found in the real world (pot holes, loose debris, wet spots, bumps). The Dorsoduro 750 may be the most compelling solution to all these problems! Developed by Aprilia to combine the ultimate fun of superlight Supermotos with the everyday usability of a standard, the Dorsoduro is a bike designed specifically to excel on the streets you actually ride. With long travel Sachs suspension that is adjustable for preload, compression, and rebound, this bike can handle even the most devastated city streets with confidence. The 90° V-twin engine brings a remarkable 50 ft lbs of torque with maximum crankshaft horsepower rated at over 90. In addition to Ride-by-Wire throttle bodies and Magneti Marrelli fuel injection, the Dorsoduro 750 now offers Continental ABS, so that your fun doesn't have to stop when the rain comes. To further ensure your enjoyment, the fuel injection and ignition timing settings can be toggled between three pre-set power delivery maps. Called Tri-Map, this system lets you quickly change between Track, Street, and Rain power delivery modes so that you can best match the engine characteristics to your prevailing conditions or preferences. If you are looking for a completely new way to approach your riding in real world environments, the Dorsoduro promises no holds barred excitement!

2013 Vespa 946 Revealed Ahead of 2012 EICMA Show

Fri, 09 Nov 2012

Piaggio surprised many at last year’s EICMA show with its Vespa Quarantasei concept, blending the company’s iconic styling with a futuristic new look. Judging by the feedback we’ve seen in our coverage of the Quarantasei – since renamed the Vespa 946 – scooter fans have been eagerly awaiting news of the final production version of the new Vespa. Nearly a year later, the final production version of the Vespa 946 has been revealed, just days ahead of the 2012 EICMA show.

Piaggio Announces 2011-2014 Business Plan – More Hybrids and Electric Models In the Pipeline

Wed, 14 Dec 2011

The Piaggio Group revealed its business plans for the next three years with a focus on developing fuel efficient engines and introducing new electric motors and hybrid powertrains. Beginning in 2012, Piaggio plans to introduce a new generation of engines with lower emissions and improved fuel economy. Examples include the new 350cc engine introduced in the Piaggio Beverly SportTouring and the fuel-injected 125cc four-stroke, three-valve engine equipped in the Vespa Quarantasei concept (which the company has apparently, and quietly, renamed as the much easier-to-pronounce Vespa 946).
